To pack smart for a spontaneous excursion, remember that there are rules to your carry-on liquids, gels and aerosols according to North American airport security. Each traveler is allowed to carry on a total of 1 L (1 quart) packaged into 100 mL containers (3.4 oz. or less), and they must be sealed in a clear, re-sealable bag. Make sure the bag is packaged neatly so security can clearly see all the contents.
