Green Beauty is the eco beauty authority—a weekly column that highlights the best in eco beauty products, brands, trends and techniques.
The hotter the weather gets, the less clothes we wear. The fewer clothes we wear, the more skin we show.
And the more skin we show, the more we have to worry about hair removal.
Legs, armpits, eyebrows, bikini, and back (for some) all asked to be plucked and shorn. There are many methods of hair removal, but, other than tweezing, sugaring is the most eco-friendly way to get rid of unwanted hair.
Sugaring is an ancient Egyptian and all-natural concoction of sugar, lemon and water. Done properly, an esthetician will pull the hair out in the direction of the hair growth to minimize follicle damage and ingrown hairs. The pulling of the hair is unlike the one abrupt motion of waxing. Instead, sugaring flicks the paste back and forth, ensuring all hair is removed.
Sugaring may not feel as sweet as the concoction tastes, but your skin will be beach beautiful.
